9 October 2015

In September and October 2015, in cooperation with AO TVEMA, we organised a railway ultrasound inspection of tracks belonging to AS Eesti Raudtee, AS Edelaraudtee and AS Eesti Energia Logistikaettevõtte, using the LDM-1 Laboratory Detector Module equipped with a mobile defectoscope. For the first time in Estonia, state of the art rail ultrasound inspection technology was used, allowing for the inspection of rails at a speed of up to 35 km/h, with much greater precision and at a significantly lower cost than the previously used, and now outdated, equipment. The inspected track had a total length of nearly 1200 km. Following the completion of the outdoor works, we organised a seminar, in cooperation with AS Eesti Raudtee, to introduce TVEMA’s ultrasound inspection technology to Estonian, Latvian and Lithuanian railway enterprises. After the seminar, we also performed mobile rail inspection for Latvia Railways in 2015.
